Adobe Flex
Adobe® Flex™ is a software development kit for the development and deployment of cross-platform rich Internet applications based on the Adobe Flash platform. Flex applications can be written using Adobe Flex Builder or by using the freely available Flex compiler from Adobe. In February 2008, Adobe released the Flex 3 SDK under the open source Mozilla Public License. Adobe Flash Player, the runtime on which Flex applications are viewed, and Adobe Flex Builder, the IDE built on the open source Eclipse platform are used to build Flex applications.

Organisations can use Adobe® Flex™ to create rich Internet applications (RIAs) that combine services from multiple back-end systems into a real-time task- or user-centric view of the application. Using Adobe Flex 2 integrated with Adobe LiveCycle® software, a J2EE-based suite of enterprise products, organisations can integrate, automate, and protect complex business processes.
Combining LiveCycle software with RIAs gives organisations and their customers the benefits of a fully integrated set of process automation tools and rich applications to enable better engagement, more transparency into business processes, and increased collaboration.
