Referrals: We Need You!
2013 has been another successful year for attracting top talent to Ergo! We have placed excellent candidates through various recruitment methods, but the one that stands out the most to me is 'referrals'. Having put a strong focus on driving referalls this year, we have seen an increase in candidates hired via referalls increasing from 3% in Q1 2013 to 37% in Q3 2013.
How do Referalls Work?
There are many ways that you can get the word out to your network of friends, colleagues, and former colleagues. You don’t even have to be working for Ergo to avail of our referral scheme. So, if you’re looking to reach out to your network and help somebody land their next career move in Ergo then read below….
- LinkedIn: This social forum is designed for professional networking, so there is a no better place to recirculate or create your own message about a job opportunity. You can go beyond just sharing the job from your LinkedIn profile by sharing on your LinkedIn groups as well, such as on “IT Ireland” group.
- Twitter: Twitter is a fantastic way to share roles with your network. Usually you’re following and are followed by Twitter users in a similar industry, so it’s a useful way to spread the word throughout the industry.
- Google+: Do you have a Google account? Then use Google+! This is great place to share available roles and find our next tech-savy superstar. An important reason Google+ can be helpful is that it allows you to create your own “circles” — groups of family, friends and acquaintances, meaning you can post jobs toward specific “circles” who might be interested.
- At the Pub or Coffee Shop: Have a think about who you meet/see on an everyday basis. Sometimes it’s just a matter of thinking who you’ve enjoyed working with, who could be an asset to the company, or who might be interested in a career change.
Our referral scheme is simple: if you know someone who is interested in working for Ergo, email their CV to email@example.com with referral in the subject line. If their CV matches a role and it results in a hire, then you could receive up to €1,000.
Have a Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing more referrals in 2014!
