There is a historical divide in many organisations where business and IT have struggled to communicate and share the same vision. Ergo believes that market pressures – economic uncertainty, new technologies and increased regulation – now make it imperative to close the gap and align.

We help organisations do this in four ways:

  1. Make innovation a priority – switch the focus from simply using IT to “keep the lights on” and break the long-standing 80/20 divide, where 80 per cent of the time is spent trouble shooting and only 20 per cent innovating.

  2. Support business goals – an agile IT department should be able to back a business case, not undermine it, through the use of highly adaptable technology components that drive compliance.

  3. Increase productivity – the business likes the idea of mobilising a workforce and making employees more productive; IT has to put the security and identity management protocols in place to make it safe.

  4. Greater control and visibility – convergence, consolidation and automation are integral to making IT more efficient. Centrally managed, it will provide greater control that will eliminate “shadow IT’ and ad hoc expenditure.
